How many amps is too many??

here is my situation and I need some advice on how to set it up. (2009 230te)

this is what is in the boat currently:

    2 polk tower speakers
    10" factory sub
    6 factory polk cockpit speakers
polk pa 250(powers 4 of the cockpit speakers)
polk pa 500(powers 2 tower speakers &factory sub)
12" boston acoustics sub in box with dedicated pioneer amp(I want to leave this as is becuase it hits pretty hard)

This is what I want to accomplish using the existing Amplifiers if it is possible:

I have 4 JL audio 770 component tower speakers I am going to hang in bullet cans(from my last boat) and remove the existing polk tower speakers altogether.
-replace factory 10" sub with JL audio free air subwoofer.

So should I add another amp?? is 4 amps too many?
should I just replace the pa 250 with a 4 channel or just replace both polk amps altogether?

I want this setup to sound as good as possible without breaking the bank

i would say you should get another amp for the new jl sub, and dedicate the other amp to the tower. seems a little strange that you are gonna run tewo seperate sub setups but i have seen it done. four amps is fine, as long ast you have the power to charge the batteries. i.e. larger than stock alternator. also adding another amp may drain youtwo battery setup fast you may want to add a third powercell. i my sugestion is to get one badass amp that will power both subs. i think there was a jl amp for sale in the gear for sale section of this site. good luck

      To Many Amps

You have to many amps when you don't have to fill the tanks or bags to get the wake you want. LOL

Actually, that sounds like it would be the perfect amount of amps... just don't swamp the boat!

Before I read the thread...I had already decided to post a suggestion to check the USCG weight limit decal.
