What's needed to hook up Sirius on 2005 211 Team?

I am purchasing a new 2005 SV-211 Team that is Sirius ready. I believe the unit that comes with the Boat is the Clarion XMD3. What model receiver and antenna do I need to buy? Approximate cost? Am I better doing it after I pick up the boat or will Correct Craft do it at the factory?

    Thanks

    RE: What

Good questions cabo- I'm in the same boat (pun intended) and wondering myself. I've seen a few promo Sirus units and wasn't sure about the interoperatibility with the XMD3 unit. I'm sure we'll see some photos come up in this thread....

Don't take my word for it but I think you need the following items:

Satellite receiver and a Satellite Antenna (Marine). You can find them at Overton's although I don't know if this will be the lowest price. The satellite receiver is $160 (item 71164) and the antenna is $100 (item 71159).

I don't know why CC does not provide the satellite receiver already with the system. From what I've seen, the head unit alone or the head unit + satellite receiver cost the same (if you buy them as a package).

I take it that the cables in interconnect the head unit with the satellite receiver already come with the satellite receiver. Same would apply to the antenna.

You will have to find a place to install both units. The satellite receiver could probably go anywhere, the question is, where will you install the satellite antenna?

Thanks for the response. I looked on the brochure on page 16 and it clearly lists the Sirius option and shows the antenna. I tried to get pricing but was not able to and only can guess where to pu the antenna. If anyone from Correct Craft knows more I would love to know before I cut into my boat with the wiring. Thanks.

          cabo-codeman,

I have seen threads on our discussion boards concerning antenna placement. Top of the tower seemed to be the location of choice. Search for Sirus on Wakeworld or Wakeboarder Forums.
