Infinity Basslink??

I have a 1997 sport nautique that i'm wanting a subwoofer in. the area in front of the drivers kick plate is not big enough for me to build or put a pre-built box in...have any of you used a Infinity Basslink powered subwoofer and if so do you like it?
or...does anyone have another suggestion for a place to put the woofer??

there is plenty of room for a box in that area, i built one for a 98 air, single 10"w3 JL and made a new kick panel with the sub cut out i will see if i have any pix. either way it hits hard but can be tuned for great sound. trhe box i built was to the factory specs included with the sub manual. my only other advice if you go this rought is get the 2ohm sub not the 4ohm.

My first question is how much bass do you want? We have a Polk MM840 8" sub in a sealed truck box that fits perfectly on the hump in front of the driver's kick panel. We have it firing sideways to starboard with a 5 channel infinity amp mounted to a board that is mounted to the box. With that plus the four 6.5" polk cabin speakers, I have never felt like it lacked a nice rounded bass. I have not seen anything in a sealed enclosure for a 10" sub that I thought could fit baring my custom building something. Being able to run everything off one amp is nice, too.

Of course, if your sound system needs are greater than mine, this probably won't be adequate. But for what it's worth, that little Polk sub does good things. I had a bazooka tube in there previously. It did not save on floor space and did not outperform the MM840 in the sealed box by any means.

/edit: Whoops, didn't see that it was a sport. Kick panel may be the way to go.

there was plenty of room behind the kick panel of my 02 SAN...but in the 97 sport nautique, there is a big hump behind the kick panel that all the cables/wires go into. not sure there is room for a 10" in a box, thats why i was asking about the other 2. thanks for the feedback on the bazooka, i almost bought one but am pretty sure i wouldnt have been happy with it after reading your opinion.
thanks for the Polk 8" suggestion, i'll check into one of those, i'm mainly wanting good sound in the boat...not to worried how many people on the lake can hear me!

There's a thread on wakeworld where an install basically removed and glassed that hump to make room for the box.

i'm sure an 8" is prob enough, but just as soon as i do that my son will be complaining of not enough thump.

I checked the adjustments on my amp yesterday. That little 8" MM840 practically shook my boat apart with minimal power from the Amp. The reviews I read before I bought it stated that it outperformed some 10" subs. I haven't made that comparison. I just know that it's enough for me in the closed bow.

I had 2 parts express 8" Quatro woofers (paper treated with wet look) in my 95 Ski above the hump in a tiny sealed cabinet. They did a very nice job. With 8's it really depends on the woofer. There is also a Tang Band oblong woofer that should fit in a sealed box above that location. It's comparable to a 10, search parts express for it, lots of guys have good luck with this little sub under truck rear seats where there are similar constraints.

That's about what mine is. For some reason, I was thinking it would be different with two subs. But now I'm thinking that's not the case.

Using 3/4-inch stock that would equate to .38 cu ft. which is required for each subwwoofer.
If you've got more space go for a bass-reflex enclosure which will yield far more output.
Multiples of small woofers in a ported box are very responsive and sound reaaly good.

i dont have a lot of room...need it for jckets, kids snacks etc. thats why i was thinking a sub on each side of the boat and running it parrallel off the sub amp.

ok guys, i might as well do some tower speakers to...im a 40something yr old that enjoys good sound but does not want/need $1200 worth of tower speakers. is there a decent tower speaker out there that is reasonably priced?
