HELP-thumb bolt or clamping bolt for wetsounds mounts

Been looking ever since I got my WS Pro485s for replacements for the 8m-1.25 Allen headed bolts that the clamps use. I love these speakers but don't really care for the so called "trick connect bracket" or removal process. I have to take my speakers off my tower to store the boat and its getting to be a pain in the rear having to use an Allen wrench for this plus the extra time it takes. I'm thinking there has got to be a source for a thumb style or hand tightend bolts that will work, what would be even nicer is a clamping style bolt like some bindings have.
If wetsounds is going to continue to lead the way in tower speakers they need to improve this area. At least come up with a retrofit hand tighten bolt that we could use in the meantime.

Not sure where you could find thumb screw that fit but a set of T-Handle Allen Wrenches will make your life much easier if you are using the regular L allen wrenches now.

    example: http://www.amazon.com/10-T-handle-Al...bxgy_hi_text_b

edit: just did some quick googling.

    http://www.shear-loc.com/8thumbscrew.htm

seems like they might have something that would fit.

      nordicron,

We use the allen style only as this is a safer approach than a hand tighten bolt. So from a factory level, we feel that safety is more of a concern. A T handle allen can get these off in no time.

I understand your concern for safety but I think the way your design is you really wouldn't need to worry. The cut down allen I use now is applies hardly more torque than what a nice knurled or thumb screw would. And if I could find a nice selfclamping or one of those foldover style clamping nuts to use that would be the cats a$$!

I agree, I have the pro 485's as well and would like to see some easier way to bolt up my speakers besides the allen bolt.

I agree as well. My boat is rarely ever in a vulnerable place that would be subject to someone being able to steal them. However, when I travel to and from the lake I like to take the P80's down to reduce stress on tower as well as bugs on speakers.
