ski boat stereo suggestions

I'm looking for a new source unit and a multi channel amp. My set up is 4 polk momo's and a 10" polk sub. I'd like to keep the budget low. I've been looking at Clarion m309 and a Sony CDX-M60UI equivelant. It needs to be a single din, and I'd like usb and option on wired remote. BTW does anyone still install remotes in the transom?

I'd also like a 3 channel sub suggestion, something for the 4 interior speakers and the sub. I need to stay with the one battery set up. I might eventually ad a couple of speakers to the tower, so thats why I was thinking 3 channel.

Any suggestions would be greatly apriciated!

Its going to require three channels to drive your single subwoofer and four in-boat speakers. Adding tower speakers will require a minimum of five total channels. Delay those extra two tower channels until you've selected your tower speakers since these speakers will absolutely dictate your power needs. Consider the fact that tower speakers usually require an inequity of power as compared to the in-boat speakers in light of how they must project. Five or six channel amplifiers do not offer this power differential in a single chassis.
This necessitates two amplifiers in most cases.
With a single battery and a moderate size of alternator you should emphasize efficiency. Check out the four channel JL Audio Class D XD400/4 or HD600/4 amplifiers.
I don't understand the single battery but I'm sure you've got your reasons.

Thanks for the info David, I'll give you a call. I'll probably never add tower speakers, just because I'm trying to keep the weight down on the boat, hence not wanting to add another battery. I also dont care for hearing the music while we ski. The tower speakers would would be used when we are tied up with friends, and floating behind the boat with a drink. The tower was on the boat when I purchased it, and it does a great job of holding the bimini.

I run a cheapie Pioneer car unit in my slalom boat with a similar system as yours. It works great.

I run a Alpine CDA-9886 IPOD Ready Head Unit, Kicker TS10L5 Sub & Enclosure, 4-Polk DB 651's , and a Kicker ZX700.5 Amp 5 channel amp in my 2000 196 and am still astonished by the volume and sound quality I am getting out of this low priced system.
