Has anyone installed the NVS 1010's on a 2004 SAN or know if it will work. My boat came with the newer style tower correct craft used in 04. I want to put a pair up there but dont want to spend the money if it isnt going to work. Any help would be appreciated. If you have any pictures can you post them too

RE: NVS Tower Speaker ?
not sure what you mean by " will they work", but if what you are asking is "will they fit", and you have the "rounded tower that came on the 2004 210, and 211, then I can tell you that Duane knows how to make them fit on the 2004 tower of a SV211. He measured my boat, and made a change to the clamp height , and presto. Here's a pic of them on the tower.

RE: NVS Tower Speaker ?
hey Fatboy,
I am using a PCX 4125 amp, setup with 500W per side. for a total of 1Kw . I don't know if the cones are paper. I think they are something else because they look like plastic, maybe they are just coated. I'll find out. I know that they have a 5 yr warranty, so that is not too bad.
I have been spending the last few days working on my boat. lotsa new stuff. Flush kit, shower, NVS, lites. and fixing up some stuff that I did not like from the factory.
regards

RE: NVS Tower Speaker ?
Here are the new NVS Addictions. It's a 10" driver with a high frequency compression driver mounted behind the 10 shooting through the voice coil. Very unique and impressive design, they were very impressive sounding.

RE: NVS Tower Speaker ?
The sound is stronger then a single entity 1010 but not as strong as a pair of 1010s. It pretty much breaks down to cone area. The addiction uses two 10" full range drivers and two 1" high frequency compression drivers. I had anticipated the addictions may be too strong in the high frequencies but did not find that to be the case after listening to them. If anything it sounded a little smoother then the 1010 in the high frequencies. For price the addictions are a couple hundred dollars less then a pair of 1010s, see their website for pricing details: www.nvs1.net.

RE: NVS Tower Speaker ?
When you say the sound is stronger, do you mean a pair of them or just one? How much better than the Evid 6.2's whould you say the addictions are? How much power do they need? I went to the web site but it didn't seem to work right.Life is Short, Live it!

RE: NVS Tower Speaker ?
The output of the addiction is somewhere between a single 1010 module (two 10" drivers/one horn) and two 1010 modules. There is no comparison between the Evids and NVS, all NVS speakers blow the Evids away and I liked my Evids that were sold with my boat in November. For $300+/- the Evids are still tough to beat but you get what you pay for, 4 times the price, 4 times the sound. I will most likely have something from NVS on my next tower, they are worth the price. I believe the recommended power is 300-500 watts per channel but they are very efficient so I will probably just run a pair of amps strapped in mono putting 300 watts to each speaker. This is probably the cheapest way to power them.

I have a question about the package deal offered by NVS on the pair of Addictions @ $1045.00 with a Zapco Reference 500.1 @ $499.00 for a total package deal of $1,544.00. Question is the amp is a one channel amp, how are you wiring them up and what RMS power rating will there be on each speaker and at what Ohm load? I am going to buy these speakers but I want to understand more about how they are wired. I have been told by the people at Wakeside.com that they need 300 watts RMS per speaker at 4 Ohms, and I don't know enough about the Zapco amp that NVS is selling with them to make and educated buying decision.
gotwake, what amp did you use and how do you have them wired?
Thanks for your help,Life is Short, Live it!

I've always had good luck with Orion and I'm running the 8004 which is 400x2 @ 4ohms. (If you look at the specs on Orion's website you'll be even more confused but it is 400x2 @ 4ohms) Anyway, Duane from NVS (great guy by the way) has told me that this is ok, and that they will handle the power just fine and he will warranty them.
The Zapco amp (Very good product by the way) that he is selling is a mono amp (class AB). It is a really good amp, that will provide plenty of power. The speakers are the wired in parallel, showing the amp a two ohm load so I think you'll have around 250 watts? per speaker. You'll lose left and right - but it'll work fine. Talk with Duane - he really worked with me on them, and really pleased with my purchase thus far -The person who said \"Money can\'t buy happiness\" never rode behind an \"OLD\" 210.
