    Stereo Headunit Cutting out

I had a jackhole powerslide his jetski right next to my boat sending a tital wave of water in my boat and shorting out my stereo. I replaced my headunit with a Kenwood Excelon unit (I will find the model number when I get home) it worked like a champ for about a month and a half. It has a USB input on the front of the reciever and gives you full ipod control from the face. About a week ago I was out one evening with some friends and went to change the song on the ipod via the face and it just shut down. I have a power button that controls the stereo power and I killed it and turned it back on and no luck.

The next morning I went down and unhooked it from the power wire on the back and plugged it in and nothing. Got home from work and did the same thing again and I turned the ignition button on and off and it started working.

The entrie next day it would work for a while and cut out and I would let it sit a while and turn the ingnititon button on and off and it would comeback to life. I tried using a CD, ipod through usb, ipod through the line in cable and the radio. All had marginal results, definitely worked best when the CD was not in the player, which makes me think it was a heat issue. It was a hot weekend.

I have used it a couple times since then and no problems but it has not been long use or as hot. Any ideas or suggestions or should I go try to get it warrantied from the place I bought it?

I would return it. Sounds like an internal problem with the HU.
