    Clarion xmd2 wiring information

Just purchased a used Clarion XMD2 radio. To test it, I attached the yellow and red wires to the poisitive side of the battery and the black wire to the negative side. And of course a set of speaker wires to each of 2 speakers. When I push the power button, the radio won't turn on and nothing shows up in the display window. Both in-line fuses are good. When I push the CD eject button, I hear a whirring sound, so the unit is getting electricity, but it won't let me insert a CD. There is a blue wire that is supposed to be for "remote out" that I haven't connected to anything because I don't have a remote for this unit. I also haven't connected an antenna to the radio, but I don't think that would prevent it from turning on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds correct so far. Check your voltage. Hit the reset or disconnect the power, give it 5 minutes and reconnect with the ground before the positives. Try holding the power button down longer.

Thanks Dave for your suggestions. I tried them all and radio still doesn't turn on. One last question: does the blue wire (remote out) have to be connected to something or the antenna wire plugged in for the radio to turn on? Thanks.
