    do i need anther amp???

ok this might sound crazy but probly not for you stereo guys..

    ihave 2 10in sub, 2 6x9s, and 2 6.5s running off one 1000 watt amp.
    and its sound great

here is the dilema i just bought 2 tower speakers to add..

so here is my ? should i buy anther amp and max all my speakers out or try and run it all off the one amp? the reason i ask is because my 10ins can handle 600watts and that eats up the hole amp if i want it to

    ps thnx for all advice

For no other reason, I would get a second amp to be able to turn on and turn off the speakers

The amp does not know weather you have a 4" speaker or a 10" speaker connected to it, it only sees an impedence load. Are they all just wired together in parallel, are they wired in mixed mode, some series? If they are all wired in parallel without crossovers then your amp is seeing a 1.3 ohm load and probably getting hot enough to fry eggs. Sketch and scan a wiring diagram and we'll tell you what your amp is seeing and when to expect it to fsssssst poof.

You can wire all the speakers off the amp but they will only see their own share of the power. I agree with turbo, get a seperate amp for the tower.
