Extra wired remote in the rear transom?

Tired of having to get the interior of my boat wet just to control the driver side Clarion remote.

I have an '06 220 with the Clarion double din and the driver side remote. Which remote do I need? I imagine I'll have to have my dealer install it since they'll be cutting into the fiberglass? Thanks!

Check our on-line store as it has all the options. All the older Clarion remotes will work including a radio frequency keyfob version. The newer remotes designed for the CMD6 have a different pulse code and connecting system and will not interface with your current source unit.
We have detailed instructions for safely cutting the gelcoat/fiberglass, prepping it and dressing it so that there is no risk of damage, blistering or spider cracks in years to follow.
All you need is one round hole saw. You certainly have all the other required tools.
You'll need a 'Y' adapter, 24 foot extension, 18/2 illumination cable, masking tape and a tube of 100 percent silicon (since everything is above the water line).

      David,
      Any specific remotes?

I wouldn't mind one that I don't have to do any drilling on. A wireless remote would be ideal. Would the i-Rock system work for my stereo?

      Thanks.

Yes, the Clarion i-Rock remote on our site will work with the addition of a Clarion 'Y' adapter. All the Clarion remotes shown will work also other than the MW1 and MW2. With the i-Rock remote there is a mod that will get you considerably more range behind the boat.
Hit us up for instructions and the parts if you elect to go that route.

I chose to permanently mount wired remote into the transom. I am happy with the results albeit not fun cutting into your boat

What did you tap into in the rear of boat for power and ground? I'm looking to tackle this same project

Although unecessary, I ran power back to the Helm remote... just be consistant. The run was simple and used the factory split loom

                  SuperSquirt,
If you do need any advice when you decide to tackle the project, let me know... Mine was a bit more difficult because of the curvature of the location where I wanted it mounted, but nonetheless basically easy to do
