    HSE Revolution wiring ?

David has been helping me set up a completely new system, he has been a great help, saved me a bunch of money and I will post more about that when I'm done getting it all in. Trying to do more SQ than shear volume in a way that is almost totally hidden, or could have been there back in 93 when it rolled off the line.

So far I'm running from the bottom of an iPod through a powered cable to a JL line driver, which gives me volume control, to a JL M400/4. I'm using the breaker on the dash to turn on the powered cable, line driver and the amp, and I have a ground wire run from the battery along with the amp ground all the way back to the powered cable. So far everything works great. The HSE has the usual positive, negative as well as a tach signal and a switched wire. I don't see any reason to add any power direct from the battery, so I'm thinking that the amp turn on lead should be fine for both the switched and the constant power. I'm guessing that this will mean I loose my setting every time I turn the HSE off, but the 1800 RPM factory default setting seems about right so I don't see having to change it. Opinions are welcome, this is a work in progress that will last all winter.

For all of those worried about having multiple line drivers, it appears to me that the HSE only has a line driver on the AUX Input. The main doesn't have a way to adjust the levels so I think it is just a pass through, and the line driver is to boost the AUX Input up to the main. If i find out differently, I'll report back.

    Hi TX,
I would suggest to not have both the constant and switched power wires on the HSE connected to the switch turning on the other components. You may experience a pop when you turn the switch off. I suggest having constant power to the red wire and then hook the blue wire to your switch. You could run a wire from your amp power cable to the HSE.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for your support with HSE.

If it aint broke, don\'t break it, and if you can\'t buy it, built it.

Opps, just noticed this. I went ahead and wired it to the same power wire, works just fine no pops or anything. I will keep this in mind though because that might change as I add more amps to the that line, I need to go back an clean up the wiring at some point anyway. I am curious, if I ran the constant wire from the amp power cable, would there be a draw when the boat is stored? I could run the constant (red wire) to the master ignition breaker on the dash so it is powered when we are using the boat, but that switch usually gets turned on/off with the stereo so I'm not sure that would change things much.

It works exactly as advertised and we couldn't be more happy with it.
