Any thoughts about a Kicker SKM 10 sub with sealed enclosure? I was thinking of putting this in the port side storage in front of the observer's seat.

Definitely a decent sub. With the best of subs you've got to vent the locker to get anything that constitutes musical bass. The bass radiation has to freely flow into the listening area without obstruction. Otherwise its just indiscriminate rumble. While you're at it why not go with a bass-reflex enclosure that will give you an easy 3 dB increase in output. That's equivalent to doubling your amplifier power. Another way to look at it is that your amplifier will only have to work half as hard. That means tighter and cleaner bass.

I have one in my 206 and it's great. Highly recommend because it's so waterproof. I was able to hang it under the radio box ad still have floor space for skis. Perfect fit. There is a lot of airflow on the sides of the seat in a 206 so it's still very good sound even with the seat down.

Thanks for the info. My 226 has a similar open airflow under the front observer's seat, so I think that is all the venting I will need. I'm sure the sub would sound better with a bass reflex enclosure box instead of the SMK10 sealed enclosure but I really do not want to give up the storage space that would be taken up by the larger reflex enclosure box.
