Wetsounds owners love Wetsounds. NVS owners love NVS. Bullet (not Bulletlines) owners love Bullet. Probably can't go wrong with any of those, if you have the coin.

The very best marine audio systems are heavily driven by application rather than brand alone and each boat and boat owner objectives will individually dictate many of those applications. A good dealer wiil carry enough variety to address most applications but be very knowlegable as to all they carry. One brand isn't likely to be the best in every category and in every boat.

David, you hit it on the nail.....problem up here in Canada is that I haven't come across a dealer that has a lot of options sounds-wise...most dealers have either a cheapers price setup or a more expensive one. Mind you any dealer can likely order me what I want but I would need to know what I do want.....boat stereo is not something I know a whole lot about but am trying to get the best info.......dumb question, do you represent a manufacturer or a dealer ??

              ...

I live in Niagara-on-the-Lake which is on the South shore of Laker Ontario. Being one of the Great Lakes it is not very often dead calm but it happens. We also have access to the Niagara River (obviously bellow the Falls) and given its 6 knot current and geography it is protected from wind and waves.

I had just bought my 9 yr old daughter some water skis as she doesn't care to wakeboard like her older brother. So we went out on the Lake and there was a very minor chop, would have been totally fine to ski or wakeboard but I wanted to make sure he first experience was great so decided to head for the river to find smooth water.

Anyone who knows the River know that it gets a tad choppy at the mouth of the river...been there many time and you may get a tad wet crossing that area but that is it...

That day the wind from the North got stringer as I made my way to the river but it was still totally fine to be boating. I turned up river and had a few bigger waves than usual but again nothing to be concerned. The we hit a much bigger wave and the boat got filled with 1 ft of water...I was quit surprised but told the kids not the worry that the pump would get it out. The got hit with a second wave which filled the boat even more so I decided to turn around. At the point it happened very fast but my wife suggested to turn only after the next wave so as not to get broadsided....well I was standing up driving and got the wave in the face. The boat was completely filled with water but still moving so I turned around and gave it full trottle but was going very slow due to the water inside the boat...as I was making my way back to the lake where it was less choppy the engined died. I issued a Mad-Day and got fished out by the US Border Patrol boat within 10 minutes. When we got on their boat I saw my 236 overturned and though that it would sink for sure.....a salvage company retrieved it and had to tow it upside down at 2 MPH to the closed marina. We got the boat right-sided and pumped all the water. Then it went on the trailer to the Nautique dealer ASAP as I didn't the insurance company to send it to "Joe boat repairs" type of place. That was last august and have been arguing with the insurance company until a few weeks ago. The dealer tried to haver them scrap the boat and give me a check but it will cost them something like $60k CAD to repair Vs paying me the higher value of a new one. The boat itself is fine minus a few cosmetic repair. The tower was broken so I'm getting a new one. The engine is oddly fine once opened and drained but as you can imagine anything electronic or electrical needs to be completely changed. So I'm not getting a new boat and can't sell this one once repair as the selling price would likely be way too low so looks like I'm married top this one for a while.....may as well then order a kick-*** sound system now !!!!

I would do a nice simple system like this...

Head unit of choice (likely limited to a wired remote with display so Alpine or Clarion are the likely candidates)

                    EQ WS-420 (Wetsounds)
                    Boost box or HSE revolution

6 good inboat speakers, Wetsounds XS650 would be my first choice
1 12" sub in a ported box in front of the driver, flavor of choice
2 Good tower speakers, Wetsounds Pro 485s would be my first choice

2 Wetsounds Syn 4's or ARC KS 300.4's
1 Wetsounds Syn 1 or ARC KS 1000.1

2 golf cart batteries dedicated to the boat and stereo with a small redtop AGM backup starting battery on a perko #2

tons of good marine power wire from genuinedealz.com
                    Stinger level 3 audio cables

maybe a few LEDs as well

                      Mike,

You just described my system. I personally think its the best all around setup for all parking and riding tunes....
