Already have the 485s up....Now summer is coming, want to figure out if I can go with the Z5 or if I am going to have to go the factory over the top bimini option....Anyone done this set up yet, and maybe havea picture? I have seen a few where the 485s have been mounted on top of the tower (looks like Mickey Mouse) so you could still use the storage rack, but I really don't care about using the storage of the bimini...

I think you can do it. Here's my 2011 tower with a Z5 and the factory HLCD speakers. Just got the call on the install.......
So far it is a no go on the 485's with a Z5 on the 2011 230. Dealer is trying to figure out something, but the way the bimini mounts this year is a problem. Speakers are too big.
Looks like the only way to do right now it is to put the speakers on top of the tower and I am definitely not down with the Mickey Mouse ear look...
If anyone has actually seen one done, please let me know!!!!Current Nautique: 2013 G23

I have seen the Pro485s temporarily mounted underneath the 2011 tower and I did not like the look given how each was significantly angled downward from the inside to outside. It really appeared to be an afterthought. The boat did not have a cargo top installed. The last conversation that I had with Wetsounds about this, they were working on machining a bracket that would correct the angle and level the speakers against a tower with a pronounced arc or radius. Of course that still won't correct the issue with the cargo top.
Another option would be the new Wetsounds series that is slated for delivery soon. The Rev 8 model will utilize an all new 8-inch Proaxial HLCD in a pod the size of a Pro60. A totally fresh technology with a more compact profile. This could provide the answer. Also, we design and machine any type of aluminum tube or billet appendage that would be necessary to facilitate a better fit. We've done this on everything from towboats to ATVs. I have my 485s mounted under the tower right now. I really don't mind the way it looks. Definitely looks better than on top of the tower, they just look out of place.
It seems like everything about this tower (design, strength causing recall, accessory fittment, etc.) has been an afterthought. It took me a bit to get over the looks of the tower, but I am really having a hard time figuring out how they didn think about all this stuff before.
Can't wait till I get my Nautique survey on this thing......I am sure I will be receiving a call from the factory when i am done with that one......Current Nautique: 2013 G23

Quick update....
Dealer spoke to another person at Z5 who has told them how to make it happen. Bimini is on order and should have it in the next week. If anyone is interested I will update ad let y'all know how it worked/didn't work.Current Nautique: 2013 G23

Wetsounds 80's
Let me know how it turns out. I have a 2011 SANTE 230 myself and was waiting for white Wetsounds 80's to come in. They're backordered...I had them on my last boat and would settle for nothing less. I also have the Z-5 and will be working the mounting issue. I'll let you know how it turns out. Didn't know about the forthcoming 8 inch in a 6 inch tube...may be a good option.
