fitting new speakers

has anybody got any ideas on best way of fitting speakers into a 2004 ski nautique
am i better to surface mount speakers or cut upholstery to fit speakers
would appreciate if anybody has pictures of similar project
also can i get a specific harness cable for nautiques to connect stereo to boats wiring
