Debating for my 02 SANTE between the wetsounds 1 Pro 485 or 2 Pro 80's. Any body have these on their boats and any feedback? The inboat speakers and Sub and wetsounds.
I had four pro 80's on tower and loved them. Two would have been plenty. I thing just the one 485 would look a little odd. Go with a pair of the new rev8 or rev 10 and I think you would be really happy.
Blair the new rev 8 is the same housing as the pro 60 but has an 8 inch speaker in it. the rev 10 is a pro 80 can with a 10 inch driver. From what I have read on wakeworld they sound great.
Blair,
The Pro485 is truly a more musical sounding speaker than a Pro80 if you have a very critical ear. A pair of Pro80s are just a bit louder, and probably the loudest speakers out there. A single Pro485 is not going to have the same peak output as the two Pro80s but from an average output or from a more linear basis the Pro485 is tops. The new Rev 8 and Rev 10 products will be a bit warmer and smoother in texture than previous Proaxials. There is a little more emphasis on the near field response with the new Revs. All of the Wetsounds tower speaker options will project to wake range with authority when properly powered.
Timing is everything. Took the boat out one more time before I ordered the Rev 8's and my amp blew. It was just a 4 channel Kicker. Replaced the amp with the Wetsounds Syn 6. What a quality unit. I have the Rev 8's on order. Thanks to Dave and Stereo King in Portland. You guys are awesome.
