I would like to install a pair of Alpha II's on my 2006 206. I have the sub and both clarion amps, the sub and its amp is installed the tower amp is not. How difficult of a job is it ? I would like to be able to turn the tower speakers on and off. Should I try it myself or look for a pro ? Are there any old threads on installing tower speakers? Thanks for any help.

if you (or a buddy) have ever installed a sub and amp in a car this will be simple for. your tower may be pre wired for the speakers. the amp is as simple as supplying power from your battery, a ground, an RCA signal from your deck, and because you want to be able to turn off the tower speakers (after you get them installed you will never turn them off) you will have to put a switch on the remote (blue wire from the deck).
easy as pie. after you get the speakers we will help out if you have any more questions.

There should be a backer board behind the existing amp, I was able to add my second amp there, be sure you use the same length screws as the original amp has so you don't screw beyond the backer board. Pulling the speaker wire will require drilling some holes in the tower, the foot on the port side front should be open at the bottom, you will need to drill the holes to exit the lower tower leg then enter the upper leg and then two exits at the top where the speakers are located. Its easier if you have the wire exit the front portion on the top of the tower, which is what I did. Pulling the wire is not too difficult, you can use some rigid wire as a fish or suck a fish line through using a shop vac.
Among the various wiring requirements you will need some rubber grommets and some sort of wire loom where the speaker wire enter/exits the tower.
