Ipod Only Plays on Front Two Bow Speakers

So I go to use my Ipod and it only plays on the two front speakers. I used the hard wire into the audio port at the helm (2009 230 SANTE) with Clarion/Polk set-up. I also tried plug-in to the glovebox. Same thing there. Also the volume would not work on the remote or head unit.

I am sure this is probably some newbie issue or something I missed. Any ideas? Otherwise all other stereo functions work as normal.
