Stereo Upgrade Recommendations for Nautique 220

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade the factory Clarion/Polk stereo in my Super Air Nautique 220. It's just not providing the bass and volume I want. Any advice/recommendations on upgrades would be appreciated.

I'm thinking I'll keep the stock Clarion deck, Polk/Momo boat and Polk/Momo tower speakers. I'll upgrade the woofer under the passenger seat with a 10" JL Audio in a sealed custom box, add a second 10" JL Audio woofer under the driver dash in a sealed custom box, replace the Clarion amps with JL Audio HD amps, and add an EQ.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hmmm...... sounds familiar....

I'm not sure what your starting with exactly, but it sounds very similar to mine.
The Polk sub isn't half bad in a proper enclosure, properly powered. The Clarion 280 bridged is running mine, and it hits far harder at max volume than any of my passengers, including this self-professed bass head, can handle. I wouldn't mind adding a second sub for a little more LFE, but once I had the new box and dedicated amp, a second sub slid waaaay down the list.

I would re-task the 480 amp to boat duty and put the remaining coin into HLCD tower speakers and an amp dedicated to tower use. Wait, that IS what I did. LOL. I'm very pleased on the bang for the buck in my 2008 SANTE 220.
