    are these wired in parallel?

i have a wetbox tower speakers setup that has 4 kicker 6x9's that are 4 ohms each. the box is setup so that two speakers terminate into one hookup, and the other pair into another hookup for the amp speaker wires. as of right now each speaker's positive goes into the positive and each speaker's negative wire goes into the negative, but the speakers aren't jumped from one to the other. seems to be in parallel running 2 ohms correct? i have a 2 channel zx350.2 i'd like to run these off of and it says it's 2 ohm stable. thanks for the help.

Basically each positive of the left speakers join together at the terminal box as do each negative. Normally I've seen positive from each speaker jumped then run to terminal box. Trying not to break anything.

If the negatives of both speaker are wired directly to the negative post and the positives of both speakers are wired to the positive post, then yes, they are wired in parallel. It's the same thing as if you go from negative of speaker A to negative of Speaker B to negative post.

Also, if your amp can handle them in parallel, it won't blow the amp if they are in series, as you would get an ohm increase in series. But it is very unlikely that they are wired in series.

Parallel is wired like you described. To hook up in series, go from the positive amp post, to the positive post on a speaker, and then from the negative post on that speaker, to the positive post on the next speaker, and from the negative post on the second speaker, to the negative post of the amp.

Thanks. I was 99% sure. I know if I changed to series I'd get 8 ohms. I want it parallel to run @ 175wx2 @ 2ohms. It comes out to about 87.5 watts per speaker. They are rated at 100 each.

So the speakers all work, but are very static/crackling sounding. Would the speaker wire being old, cheap, and corroded cause this or should I look else where?

You might have a short in the speaker wires. Hook them up with some new wire directly to the amp and test.
