Stereo install tomorrow. Will my components work good? How should I set it up?

Finally getting the stereo worked on for the 2005 SV211 tomorrow. The boat has six Polk Momo speakers in the boat. I have two Roswell Spin Tower speakers(4 speakers total), a custom sub box with four unknown 6" subs, that fit under the removable back seat. I have a new 1000w 4 channel Pyle Amp(250w x 4 output/500w x 2 bridged output), and a new 600w Pyle amp(300w x 2 output/600w x 1 bridged output). The boat also has the stock clarion head unit. Should I get better amps, or will the ones I have work well? Should I have one sub installed in the box, or go with four subs? Should I replace the head unit in the boat? If I replace the head unit, can I still use the remote? what other components do I need?Should I run all the speakers on the amp and remove them from the head unit( currently four are on the head unit, and the two fronts are on the amp)? Will my 1000w amp run six boat and four tower speakers, or should I run the sub and tower speakers off one amp and the six boat speakers on the other? I want to hear the stereo while surfing behind the boat. Boat is going to the stereo shop in the AM. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Decon66,

I have an idea where that mysterious sub box may have come from ;-)

Don't change those subs, you won't do better than the Tang Band subs and you will be surprised by them: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...ource=googleps

The sub is wired series/parallel to yield 4 ohm so you should bridge the Pyle amp and dedicate it to the sub, it is powered about right for that sub. The other pyle amp is probably a good match for the boat speakers. Run the bow off the front 2 channels and the rear 4 off the rear 2 channels, I would add a Kicker electronic volume control to attenuate the bow (sourced from Earmark). I would add a third amp for the tower, this is where you need to spend a few bucks. Depending on the impedance of the tower I would recommend an Arc 300.2, Wetsounds Syn 2, Arc 300.4 or Wetsounds Syn 4. If the impedance of the tower speakers is 4 ohms go with the a bridged 4 channel amp, if it is 2 ohms go with a 2 channel amp.

I have the exact same boat so I can provide you with plenty of knowledge. I have reworked my system almost every year since I bought my 211 new in 2005.

Just got home from the stereo store with the boat. Thanks again for the sub Mike!!! Unfortunatley they didn't use it because one of the subs got damaged during shipping or storage. They set the boat up just as you said, minus the volume control for the front speakers. The boat needed alot of work to get everything working properly. Only two of the six speakers worked on the boat when I brought it in. I had to buy a third amp, new sub(they threw the box in for free),and about $150 in misc materials(fuses, ground, wire, etc.). I dropped the boat off at 10:30 am and picked it up at 9pm tonight. I will try to post some photos of the finished work. The only bad part is that it cost $1000 to get evrything the way I wanted. I will try to post some photos of the finished work tomorrow, after a great day rocking out the lake. Let me know where and what type of sub you are running on your SV211 Mike?

Too bad about the box. I opened up the footwell of my boat and re-routed all of the cables, hoses, and wires in that space then built a 2 cubic foot slot ported custom box for a Boston SPG555 sub. I am very happy with the result. Unfortunately to get it in I had to pull the dash and steering gear to allow for enough clearance to get it in place. I also had to trim the lower edge of the fiberglass below the steering wheel.

see if I can find the pixtures...
