We have 2 of the interstatebatteries right now with the 4 position perko (1,2,1+2, off).

So I am guessing that in TX, 2 deep cycle batteries could be sufficient.

Alternatively, I could keep one starting battery (or dual purpose) on position 1 and one deep cycle on position 2 in the boat. Using the starting to start and while engine is running on position 1, with the deep cycle left off until use of the stereo with the engine off is desired on position 2. Then the deep cycle could be taken home after each use and fully charged at home.

We just simply do not have access to power where we store out boat.

Use the Interstate SRM-29 for your stereo battery. Great amp/hour reserves for a very fair price. You are only looking at two wing nuts. Use a group 31 case with a modified nylon strap/handle that will make R@R a breeze. Or use a Deka group 31 AGM so that you never have to worry about a spill in the back of your vehicle. Talk about something that would ruin your day.

AllianceBJJ- My system is powered by 2 deep cycles that are on position 2 of my perko, then 1 yellow top optima is on position 1 of the perko and is solely used for reserve cranking purposes. The deep cycles are wired in a series together and they power the entire boat. LEDs, tower, inboats, and sub. With the motor off and stereo at 3/4 to full volume + transom lights + in boat LEDs i've ran it for 5+ hours straight and never had to switch my perko over to "1" (the yellow top reserve). I would say you just need to upgrade to some better batteries. A set up like mine should run your boat. I cant imagine it not.

Batteries cannot be wired solely in series for a 12 volt boat unless they are 6 volt batteries to begin with.
Never add more batteries to a system beyond what you have for an effective plan to recharge them. Otherwise the excess capacity can become a liability rather than an asset.

Might be a stupid question, can I hook up my sound system exclusively to let's say 2 Interstate srm29 batteries and keep the only battery I already have to power just the boat?

Yes, its managed with a dual battery switch.
                All grounds are common.
Nothing wires direct to a battery other than the switch 1 and 2 terminals and a bilge pump/switch if applicable. Maybe a memory lead if thats important. But you would want to pull the fuse on this while in long term storage.
The starter/alternator feed, the helm buss supply and ALL audio equipment will be wired to the output terminal of the dual battery switch.
You will start and operate while the engine is running in the 'Combine' position.
You set at rest while playing the stereo and the engine is not running in the '1' position if that is the battery bank that you have designated as the stereo bank.
Bank '2' would then always remain protected and in reserve for starting.
