wet sounds for a flats boat

i'm helping a friend of mine pick out a system for his 18.5' flats boat. it has no stereo at all. so far the plan is to mount a pair of sw-65's facing the helm, a pair of swt-65's on the engine platform(where u pole from), a syn micro, and a head unit. then he decided he wants some led rings for all of them. any idea how much the strips usually are and what "style" they would be referred to as? if you'd change anything please let me know. we're keeping the speakers wet sounds though. probably won't ever add a sub.

Didn't realize the rings come with LEDs. Sorry.

take a look at our misc gallery. you will see some flats boats there. couple different ways to go. some flats boats are even rocking a single 485 under the platform! you can hard mount the speakers using a through bolt instead of clamps. we make a salt water kit with a stainless top plate for this. most t top boats do it this way. we have built our own rings and our own led's now. so give the office a call and let them know what you are thinking. 877-938-7757 and we can see what we have as far as rings and led's go. we have stock in all the REV speakers ring now and limited on the in boats and pro speakers. i would suggest seeing if he can step to the SW-650 and SWT-650. They have tons of mid bass and since he isn't running a sub, it would really fill out the low end

so i explained to my friend about planning out his system to save money in the future and that it would also revamp his boat joy adding new items. he is going to start with a pair of sw-65's mounted in the gunnel. these will have white led rings from earmark(he wont listen to me that 18 led's will ruin his night vision in a white fiberglass boat), and a kenwood 440 h/u i believe(3 2v pre amps). in a few months he would like to add the swt-65's to the poling platform, again with white led rings, a ws-10" sub, and a jl audio m 500/3 to power the in boats and sub. will this amp be sufficient? i really want him to use two syn micro's, but that adds a large amount to the overall price. does this set up sound kosher?

that sounds great. and would work well, that amp would match the 65 well.

once again things changed. looks the system will consist of the kenwood h/u, 1 pair of swt-65's w/ led's, and either a kicker skm-10 or a wet sounds ss-10 in an audioformz .95 cu.ft. box, and the jl 500/3 amp. the second pair of 65's will be added to the center console later because the gunnels are very short and will not fit any speakers. i tried to get him to wait for the new wet sounds stuff, but oh well. thanks Tim for the info. i'll post pics when the install begins/ends.

I just placed an order with earmark for a pair of swt-65's(white) and a kenwood kmr 330 head unit. Odin is going to see if they can get some led rings to fit. They will be white also if it does work. Going to get some more speakers and a sub/amp when the new stuff comes out next year. Just waiting to see what Tim puts out for 2012.
