I have a 86' Silver Nautique. My winter project is to install 4 speakers along the side walls in the interior. I've figured out my amp and deck mounts underneath the dash. The problem I'm having is figuring out how to secure the speaker boxes to the side of the boat.
My plan is to make thin boxes to house the speakers, carpet them, then secure them in some way to the sides of the boat (2 right next to the rear seat and 2 up front behind the driver seat and rear facing passenger seat). My problem is, I don't want to use screws that risk piercing the boat hull (super thin!).
The only idea I've found, is to strip back the carpet, use a resin apoxy to adhear the box directly to the hull, and the recarpet everthing. I do not like that idea becuase the carpet is in perfect shape, and I don't think I can re-carpet the hull, with the box as clean as I would like it.
Had anyone come up with ANY idea to attached speaker boxes to the side of the hull?
I welcome ideas - thank you!
