    Super Sport Nautique Stereo

Hey guys, looking for some insight,

    I am thinking of running

    2 Rev10s powered with a SYN4

    4 polk mm651s (2.7ohm) & Wetsounds XS-10 Sub with another SYN4

Would this sound pretty balanced in my boat? The only think I am concerned about is if the polks will work with this Amp as well as will they
handle the power of the Amp?

I am not 100% what the power in RMS value to each of the speakers would be?

    Revs - 400w rms each @ 4ohm?
Polks - 125w rms on the first 2 channels?
XS-10 - 400w rms bridged on the second channel

Please correct me if I am wrong and any help would be great

    Thanks

You will not be able to bridge those in boats safely. Your speaker load will read 1.35 at the amp, too low. You can either put each speaker on a separate channel of the SYN4 or use the MM651UM bridged to 2 channels for a 2 ohm load. Then you can run the other 2 channels bridged to the sub.

Its true, as stated above, that you cannot parallel two 2.7 ohm speakers on one channel of most fullrange amplifiers. Use the MM651UM versus the non-UM version because it is 4-ohms AND because it has a sealed midbass cone resulting in more surface area and better midbass. So its a better speaker all around. Or use the Wetsounds XS-650 coaxials which are 4-ohms and constructed like the UMs with a continuous, uninterrupted midbass cone. And make sure that with all the available impedances and voice coil configurations that your subwoofer nets no less than 4-ohms when bridging the amplifier. Other than those recommendations its sounds like you have a very good plan.

That's kind of what I had figured, ****.

I already have the Polk mm651 speakers as they were a gift from the inlaws so I can not exactly sell these...

        Anyone have any other suggestions?

I also have A Syn2 amp sitting on my
Shelf from my pro80s that I was planning on selling but could use for a sub amp.
I would then have to get a third amp which might cause my factory 55amp alternator to work a little hard.

I will also have a spare optima d34m with a perko if that makes a difference

Amplifiers will run a little more efficiently at a higher impedance. The only additional current draw you would be adding for certain with the additional amplifier is the idle amperage rather than the potential current draw. From there the additional current draw will be determined solely by the guy at the volume control.

In any case that is a ton of power for a 55 amp alternator. It would not be capable of running the boat operations, driving the audio system near capacity and recharging any battery depletion. So more battery capacity will help and the right size of AC shore charger will be essential for full battery restoration and longevity. Your alternator will appreciate the help also so its not running as hot as an exhaust manifold. A couple of deeply depleted batteries can represent as much alternator load as the audio system.

Well I talked to the inlaws and I am going to switch out my mm651s for mm651UMs

            I will be running

            SYN4 - mm651UMs on 2 channels and a XS-10 bridged on another 2

I am hoping this sounds great in my boat as my old boat had a weak inboat system, (db651s off a alpine deck and no sub)
so this should be a MAJOR improvement

            SYN4 - REV10 (if funds permit)
