    Need stereo battery bank help

So I have a question to see if I'm on track for a proper battery bank to go with my stereo and alternator. I have a 2003 SAN 210 with a stock 70 amp alternator. I plan on keeping the Kirkland 27 group on switch 1/starting battery. On switch 2/stereo bank I'm going to buy 2 Deka 8A31DTM in parallel. I have three JL amps XD 600/1 sub, XD 600/6 boat and a HD 750/1 tower. So 1950 total amps. How long of run time can I see while the boat isn't running and do I need to upgrade my alternator? Does anyone have any better options or ideas? I'm hoping Brett Yates (polar bill) will respond.

Thank you for your input Nate.

I'm heading the same direction, currently have XD400/4 and a XD600/1. I will be adding 2 HD 750/1's, one to replace the sub amp and another for the tower. Currently with a VSR and 2 group 27's and a 105 amp alternator I have run 8 hrs with no issues and no motor. Typically we ride for 2 or 3 hrs then the stereo is on at the dock for 45 min or so. It takes about 20 min for the 30amp charger to top off all the batteries. I expect that to stay about the same with new additions because I can't think of a senario where I would run all 3 amps hard. Most likely the 750/1's while we're riding and the the 400/4 and a 750/1 when we're stopped.

You won't find Bret Yates over here, he on WakeWorld.

What amp are you putting with the HD750/1 sub amp? And what did you have with the 600/1? I just bought the XD600/1 to go with a JLW612. HD750/1 paired with a set of REV10's and the XD600/6 for the boat speakers.

13TW5, I got a deal on the pair of amps that I couldn't pass up, same thing with the sub. I haven't mounted it yet, just powered it up for a couple of songs and it made a difference, the 600/1 wasn't being used to its full potential. I wish there was more space in the boat because I would rather have a W6 or a regular sized 12, but the box just gets in the way. The 600/1 will move into my truck, I really like the XD amps, they are absolutely tiny even when compared to the HD's

What brand and style of batteries are you running?

Some cheap Interstates from Sam's on the stereo side, and Deka AGM for the starter that about 2 years older. Thought long and hard about some AGM's or 6 volts, but in the end I decided to just go cheap. If they crap out quick then maybe next time I'll do something different. At the time I didn't have a charger so I kind of hated to spend $$$ on nice batteries when I couldn't give them the best care. I was also concerned that all 3 weren't new at the same time, so I seperate them all from each other when I put the boat away so hopefully if one goes out it won't take the rest.
