help with Adding Tower speakers on a 226

I just purchased a 2006 SV226 limited. i would like to add tower speakers. What should i be thinking, what do i need, etc. i believe the original came with Deafcon III's, am i right? should i look to add what it came with or go a different direction? Do i need any other equipment other than speakers? Thanks guys for the help.

i'm not wanting to spend a ton of money. i would like to have a nice system. we have a lake home with young kids, so we're not hanging at the beach. when we are done we come back to the house and shut it down.

Something to consider given your description...
Wetsounds is just about to release an Icon8 8-inch tower coaxial surf speaker. It's large enough to give you some projection at range when you need it. It's also large enough to give you some midbass warmth and a balanced sound. It's easy to drive as compared to an HLCD and not as expensive from an amplifier standpoint.
If you add tower speakers you will need an additional dedicated amplifier and the associated wiring.
If you play your music for extended durations while at rest then you will absolutety require a second battery and a dual battery switch. If you only play music while pulling or underway as long as your system is moderate then a second battery is not necessary.
