Besides the visual cues and coated boards, what is different about the ks amps vs. syndicate amps? For instance, the arc ks 900.6 has slightly less power than the syn 6, but they appear to be the exact same shape and function similarly.

In a car. It cannot run high pass.
The syn-6 is high pass or low pass in chs 5/6 so it can run tower speakers or subs on chs 5/6
So The front end input/crossover section is completely different between them. The 900.6 has a steel chassis cover and non coated board for car use where the syn-6 has a stainless steel chassis cover and conformal coated pcb board.
We have increased the rail voltage to get a bit more power to better suit our use in marine. We share engineering obviously as both the KS and SYN amps engineering are done by Robert Zeff but we do our design to fit the need for marine an they do theirs to better fit car audio

Thanks Tim; y'all are awesome and Simon in customer service has been very helpful so far. My syn6 just got delivered to y'all a day or two ago to get ch 6 working again I hope. I've done some reading on the coating and different types, etc. the main thing I'm curious about is the difference in let's say a syn 6 with conformal coating and then a syn 6 without the coating.
