New Dash Remote 04 Super Air

I'm going to be replacing the stock clarion head unit in my 04 Super Air Nautique. I need more outputs now that I have an additional 4 channel amp.

I'm between a Kenwood KMR-550U and the Clarion M309.

Seems the current clarion remote in the dash won't work regardless of how I go. So what to do...most of the new remotes are round and won't fit in the oval hole on the dash. Anyone dealt with this? Here's a pic of the dash.

I recently installed a clarion CMD7 head unit and MW2 remote. I had to replace the wiring harness to the remote. It is not perfect and I no longer have lcd screen on the remote. I do love the way the CMD7 works with an Ipod. The wiring harness from your old clarion head unit is the same so it will switch out easily.

Interested in this also. Other than having a piece of ABS plastic or acrylic cut and replacing the factory chrome piece, not sure what else to do. I wish someone made a drop in replacement so all you would have to do is mount whatever remote you chose to go with.

Got our answers. Nautique does make a part for updated remotes. Carried by White Lake (nautiqueparts.com) and N3 said they could drop ship it.

N3 does not have it on their site but Mark gave me a price of $56 plus shipping.

Either way...ouch....

Now I'm thinking I should just go with Clarion components to guarantee the remote fits properly (it's 3" in diameter). I can't find a measurement of the kenwood remotes.

I'm doing the same thing. The difference seem to be that the plate sold by Nautique parts has the warning labels on it, and the one by N3 appears to be blank. The problem with the blank one is that it looks like there are holes where the labels go. I ordered the one from Nautique Parts and it shipped the same day. Thanks for all the info. I was pretty bummed when I realized the remote was a different shape.

I'm going to have one for sale too. The lettering on the remote is somewhat worn, but everything works fine.
