One of my really close friends just purchased a brand new Sea Ray 300SLX open bow, twin engine, runabout ($150k Boat). It is equipt with a Sony head unit and 6 Rockford fosgate 6.5" speakers and a 10" r/f sub. I had the pleasure of picking this boat up and driving it back to our marina by water (10 mile trip). Off course I went through everything including the radio. This could easily be a bayliner quality set up. I cannot believe sea ray could do this bad. The buyers order stated this boat had premium stereo upgrade. At any running speed the radio distorted badly. there is absolutely no bass. I am not saying the equipment is bad but I am guessing that s/r only used 1 amp. I end up managing my buddies boats for so I think when he actually takes the boat out he will be in the market to fix this set up. Does anyone have any experience with this boat and radio set up? His budget is much better than btw!!!
