Amp settings for Hz on wetsound XS-650 and factory sub

I notice that my HZ was at 50 and don't think that's right. I have been told by the installer it should be at 120-125 on the XS-650's. Can someone let me know if this is correct?

Also what should the factory Polk sub be set at?

I'd try 100hz on the 650's, and the same for your sub. The sub picks up frequencies below 100, while the boat speakers pick up frequencies above 100, or whatever you set it too. Adjust the gains accordingly. Most the wet sounds manuals tell you the proper way.

Well, the factory sub is probably not going to be audible if you don't have your storage vented and put soft goods in the storage area like most of us. So, in this particular case I would get as much bass as I could from the XS650s, 50hz is not a bad setting if they are not beating themselves to death. Maybe even run them wide open if you are not running too much power.

If you step up to a sub setup that is audible and put some serious power to the XS650s I would suggest you run them down to 100hz or so. Run the sub up to 80hz, I typically have better results with a gap in the crossover settings. Trial and error with a test tone CD will help you figure it out.

My sub is next to me(driver) and not in the storage area. It's a factory Polk sub. Ill give it a try this weekend. I just thought that 50 was way low for the xs650s . And I can't hear the sub at all, I just feel it sometimes.

this is not an apples to apples comparison, but right now my memphis 6.5" speakers are set at 100hz. i think their rms wattage is 60 watts. at 100hz they have a ton of mid bass. i had to turn down the 420 settings alot. your speakers should sound really good somewhere between 80-100. just play around with it some. i like to do it out on the water, but i've usually got a few folks with me and it makes it tough to tune things without getting on peoples' nerves...
