So I'm on vacation and after 3 days the Clarion 480 AMP goes bonkers. The blue power light is blinking and no power to speakers. Yesterday after 10 minutes it came on and played fine, today it took 20 minutes, it was thinking it was a short and took some waves to jar it into shape. Now I have noticed no jarring needed, just patience (I have none on vacation with my boat). It starts blinking faster and faster for take-off then the amp powers on. The latest, the sub works fine and so does bass in the rear speakers of my 2005 SV211 TE, but no music or singing. Both the fuses are OK. Is this the beginning/middle of the end for this AMP?
I've searched this site and google and found no solutions, and no definitive answers as to the problem. Plus more people look at general topics vs stereo.
To get me thru vacation, can I pull the speaker wires off the 480 AMP and hook to the 280? The 280 powers the tower and front two speakers. I don't need the tower, but would like the in hull speakers to work.
Thanks for any help
Walter
