Replacement for Factory Clarion CD Receiver in 99 Air Nautique

I have a 99 Air Nautique. My factory Clarion CD unit throws an error code about half the time when the boat is running and im ready for replacement. I was wondering what (if any) Cd players out there will fit in the factory opening? Also, if there are multiple units that will fit, what does everyone recommend? I have searched and searched and cant find what units will simply drop into the existing spot.

I did read there may be an adapter plate i can buy or make?

I replaced my factory unit on my 99 sport with the clarion m309. It was an easy swap, wiring harness is the same, and you get usb and aux jack inputs for ipods and mp3 players. No adapter plate needed.
