2012 boat with stock Clarion head unit and a linc system. I am trying to hook an ipod up using a usb cable but the head unit and the linc display "No USB". I went to the manual and learned that this head unit requires a specific USB cable, got that and hooked it up but I am getting the same message. Head unit is set on AUX/USB.(as well as every other setting I could try) This should be simple, what the heck am I missing?

You can't use the USB port right next to the LINC system. You have to use the one by the head unit. The one by the LINC system is just for LINC system updates.

Like Jeff said, you have tu use the USB by the head unit, try a different device (iphone or other), different cable. If it still doesn't work, there are cases where the extension cable used (from the head unit to the radio box) is too long and has to be replaced. You could probably plug your apple cable directly in the head unit to test and see if it works.2012 210 Byerly

My solution was that I just used the rca style jacks from ipod and iPhones to the glove box jack, and with the HU on AUX2 setting and it works fine.
In reading up on this I found a thread stating that the wire between the usb port and the HU is too long to carry the signal -- whatever, I now can listen to play lists or Pandora from my iPhone through the other jack.2010 Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition

That's an option but I was hoping to control the ipod from the linc instead of having to reach over to the glove box to get to the ipod. Don't think the RCA hook up will allow that other than volume. Probably not a big deal because we don't listen to too much music anyway but just didn't expect to have a problem with what sounds like a pretty simple hookup. Next time it's at the dealer I'll let them figure it out. thx
