Tower speakers/amp install : How much should it cost???

I am in the Dallas area and trying to price out tower speakers and amp. I found some wetsounds pro80 for $700 and a 4channel amp for $400-$450. My question is labor and parts cost around $500-$600.

Should total price for both installed be $1700-$1800. That seems really high???

Also, I was wondering how white tower speakers would look on a black tower?

Who is qualified to answer your question about the labor and small parts quote without knowing all the details? That number could be way too expensive from one shop while a total bargain from another shop. For example...Are they running a new heavier gauge tower harness? Are they moving around the old amplifiers and making a new amplifier panel? Are they adding to the existing supply cable with 4-gauge? Are they using domestically-rated copper wiring or a cheaper aluminum alloy? Are they a car audio shop doing a boat or are they a marine specialist doing a true marinized installation with marine grade materials? Is it a total solder and heatshrink job or is it a quicky crimped job? Are they re-tuning the existing equipment? Do they have the support equipment to test batteries, tune systems, etc. Are they done when the system is working or do they really know how to tune a boat properly and differently from a car? I would need to have answers to several dozen more questions before I was qualified to answer your question.

In short, make sure you check wet sounds first if the 80's ur looking at aren't new bc they had a sale. Also, from personal experience, each speaker needs a minimum of 200 watts rms. You can always get black speaker sox. Everything really depends on what's in there now, where the batteries are located, and how many amplifiers you'll have. Labor can add up quickly so over estimate. Make sure they use all stainless hardware, pay attention to where they are drilling, and you might want a 420.
