Mute disengages when throttle is slightly increased.

Hello,

I have had my 2012 SANTE 210 for 5 weeks now. All seems straight forward except the mute button on the LINC system panel.

For example, my kid is enjoying wakeboarding with his favorite tunes blasting. He falls, I hit mute, pull back on the throttle and go around to get him the rope. If at any time during my go around, I increase the throttle slightly (ie to plow through my wake or get the rope to him quicker), the mute disengages and the music blasts again. When I hit mute I would like it to stay engaged until a hit the mute button again.

So, How do I keep the mute function on despite any increased throttle movements?

Mine does the same thing, I beleive it has to do with the auto increase on the volume. I would bet if that was turned down it wouldn't over ride the mute.

I wait till i am closer to the rider before i ever hit mute. When near the rider i never do more than idle thus keeping the stereo muted till riding again. Works nicely, its kinda like an anti power turn stereo feature

Thanx for the replies. I finally called Nautique and found there is a setting buried many layers in the LINC 2.0 called "sound intensity" which regulates the audio level above ambient noise. Can't change it now as my season is over and my boat lives in Idaho and I in Arizona. Hope I remember how to do it when I see my baby again in June.

Would you care to elaborate please? You are not talking about auto-volume here? I use auto-volume at level 4 and I hit mute only when I'm around the rider and idleing.

It's hard to elaborate because my boat is 2000 miles away and I can't personally change the settings. The guy at Nautique said auto volume setting is separate from the sound intensity setting. My issue is that when I press mute, I do not want music coming back on at any level and all the current described setting changes seem to allow my choice of mute to be cancelled if I throttle up in the . I have a letter off to Nautique for further clarification. Will post when I get a response.

Here is the reply from Nautique:

"Dr. Bolton

I contacted the engineering regarding your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut to turning off autovolume but we hope to provide a software update which will prevent autovolume from overriding the Mute command. I don't know when an update will be available. Until then, I recommend using 5 as the autovolume setting if you want the maximum attenuation when the boat is in idle. It sounds like you have made that compromise on your own. I am sorry for this inconvenience and I hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.
