Pretty sweet man. Is that sub open air or is there a box behind the kickplate?

      Looks good!
How did you end up doing the 6.5's in there, since the factory speakers are mounted from behind. Did you just cut out all the black mesh or did you have to cut out a bigger hole into the vinyl or what? Any pics?

It is just a free air sub so no box behind the kick plate! I think it sounds pretty good!

For the xs-650s, what I did was

        -cut the mesh out
        -cut the speaker wires
        -removed the combing pads
-removed the stainless hardware in the back holding the speakers & speaker rings
        - pulled the vinyl pinning that rounded the black mesh
        - then installed the XS-650s by drilling through the vinyl
Into the plastic ring which was only about 3/16" wide (kinda tricky)and used the screws wetsounds provided
        To front mound the speakers
        - the are in nice and solid
        - I ran all new wires to the amp and soldered & shrink wrapped at both ends

Sorry no pics' shoulda look some of that!

Delmage, once again I'm following in your footsteps. I really like how you mounted your sub. What are the drawbacks of an open mounted sub? Would it be possible to enclose the back of the kick panel or would that interfere with the wires behind?

You could definitely enclose the back of the sub! I think I may do that this winter to get some more bass out of my Sub
