    Passenger door speakers sound blown

So my mb quart 3-way component system in the front passenger side sound crackly and awful. Never noticed it until I had to stop using my sub due to getting the surround repaired. Any things to check the speakers? If they are dead, I'd like something similar, but slightly softer on the highs. Running off a slash 300/4.
    3-way component x 2, 5.25 coaxial x2.

Yes, MB Quart can be too aggressive in treble....unless you're in your 70s or have attended too many rock concerts.
The JL Audio CD-653 (6.5", 4" & .75") is a great 3-way with a Euro silk dome tweeter (which is very articulate and silky smooth). And, it has multiple tweeter accentuation/attenuation settings plus multiple midrange lowpass slope settings to compensate for any positional issues in the vehicle. 12 settings total. The extra hour or so tuning the passive crossover will make a monumental difference. For the rear 5.25" coaxials JL Audio also has the C5-525, C3-525 and C2-525x. All have the same sonic signature. Since I like the rear speakers to create ambience at a subordinate level, I don't see the need to invest heavily in rear fill. In a car/truck/SUV I hate to compromise a dominant front stage. So I like most of the investment up front.
Focal also has three versions of a 3-way component set which have smaller midrange drivers. So does Hybrid but to me are just an inferior copy of the Focal.

thanks. my initial thought was focal or JL. i'm about to start doing some web browsing, but i am fairly sure there's no focal dealer in my neighborhood.

what about doing the c5 5.25 w/ the 4" added up front and the c2 5.25 coaxials for the rear? then the 10w6 for the sub.

There is absolutely no way you can justify a 3-way with any less than a 6.5" midbass driver. Plus, you would never integrate a fullrange or coaxial 4-inch with a 5.25" closed integral or separate component set. The matching and fully complimentary crossover is key to the 3-way because it provides a clear division and minimum overlap between the three drivers, not to mention good phase coherency, and all the adjustable settings previously mentioned. If you want a coherent front stage then go with a pre-packaged component set, whether 2-way or 3-way and do not supplement it (in the front). You can't do a Frankenstein mix and expect any phase integrity.
If you have a true expert installer in your area then investigate an Audison Bit digital sound processor. Once you hear one that is correctly set up it will forever change your perception of car audio.

The install was done November 2005 by 404 motorsports of Atlanta. I'll take a look, but for some reason I'm under the impression that I've got 5.25" coaxials in the rear doors, and 5.25", 3" in the front doors, with the tweeters in the factory location.

Confirmed 5.25", 3", and tweeter up front. Not sure about crossover setup. After looking at all the major brands excluding morel, hertz, etc. I like the jl c5-653 or the arc audio black 3-way. Could I just leave the current rear speakers for the time being if I end up replacing the fronts?

Sure, if the rear speakers are in good shape definitely use them. Personally, I prefer a warm rear fill speaker so that I don't detract from the front stage. There are a number of ways to accomplish that if the metal domes are too aggressive.

welp, as of this morning there is 0 sound from the pass. front door speakers. i googled a video on removing the door panel, which is simple, so i'm going to do that this afternoon and see exactly what parts i have in there and if anything is loose. i wish i could be satisfied with OEM anything.

Considering doing just a 2-way now. Not bc of price, but from my readings 3-ways are a PIA to get tuned well and need to be set at more proper angles than 2-ways. Thoughts? I'll be adding damping to the front doors anyways, but just don't know what I should do.

If anyone cares I fixed the speakers. Also, first time I've opened this since it was done 7 years ago
