I use a bluetooth Music Receiver adapter to stream music from my iphone through my factory stereo. Simple as plugging into the auxiliary input port and then plug into USD port for power and this thing works great. Never a problem. Just need to turn it on at the start of each session. Ordered it off Amazon with the attached link.

    Hope this helps.

Which of these will I need? I remember seeing a USB for power, but not sure if there is a mini jack(headphone) jack on the head unit.

OR... Should I order the model with RCA inputs?(is there an open set of inputs on the back of my stock Clarion head unit?)

NO AFTERMARKET BLUETOOTH ADAPTER WILL PLAY THROUGH YOUR USB PORT. That's not how they work. The only thing that some of them do via usb is charge. That's it. They all play music out through RCA or 3.5mm (headphone) jacks.

Yes. I understand that the USB is for power only.

My question is: What output source is available on the stock Clarion head unit?

                RCA?
                minijack?

                  input source you mean?

There are two sets of RCA AUX inputs on the back of the CMD6. One of those is presumably used to go to the aux port on the dash.

                    Yes, input.
learned that there is an RCA input.

                    Ordered the miccus.

I just installed the miccus, along with one of these in my boat this weekend: http://www.isimplesolutions.com/char...ltDM-IS43.aspx

The miccus is left plugged into usb, and zip tied up under the dash where nobody can see anything. In preliminary testing it works perfectly. Comes back on automatically with power and the phone easily recognizes it. I get no noise from the engine running at all (I was careful to use the same power source for deck, eq, hse revolution and the hubvolt).

there's nothing really to see? It's all zip tied up under the dash.

I tried this route on our G. Success and fail.

Success: easy install and sync to my iPhone.
Fail: pops and crackling on boat ignition and cutoff. Crackling intermittently while underway.

I tried the power port and 3.5 mm jack by the driver side armrest and the RCA input and power port by the head unit. Same result.

                            its going back to AmAzon.com

i am going to give this a try. No need for a power source. It's powered by the USB and receives through a std. Apple 30-pin cord.

This is what I use and love it. Stays connected, no static, works great. Will not stay connected is driving device leaves the boat. Hope this helps someone.
