can i use one amp for my whole system?

i'd love to have just one amp for my boat. i've read a few things on the sd configurations, but am still unclear of how i could go about things. here's a list of what i would like to use it for:
1 pair of pro 80's or rev 8's
    3 pair of sw-650's or 65's
    1 xs-12 sub(single 4ohm)

i dont want anything under powered. if wet sounds says a speaker's rms is 200 i'd like 300 or more going to the speaker. i realize these amps are efficient already, but i'd like to have alot of head room with my gains. as of right now my inboats that rms at 60 are have 55w going to each of them and they are not loud enough at all. that's my main, possibly only complaint about my system; besides wanting only one really awesome amp. thanks. be safe.

You could run one Sinister SD6 to all. Chs 1-2 would be on the 80's or rev 8 getting 185x2. The 80's and REV 8 can take more power but it would be fine like this. But you could run a lot more if you wanted. But, If you are just wanting to keep it as one amp, it can be done. The 3 pairs of in boats would be with 2 pairs in series for an 8 ohm load and then parallel back together with the 3rd pair for about a 6 ohm load. The csh 3-4 would do about 165 x2 at 6 ohms. Netting about 55 w to each. Then the sub would be 585x1 at 4 ohms.

So you could drive it all with one amp. However the in boats would wind up about the power you have now. Another option would be to run the towers on 1-2 and 2 pairs of in boats off 3-4 in parallel (290x2 at 2 ohms so 145 to each) and sub on chs 5-6 for 585x1 and leave what amp you have now for the bow with 55 to those. No one really rides in the bow anyway! And they are usually so close together, 55 watts to those would be fine. Or if you have a 4 ch being used now, bridge it on the bow and see how that does.

You could try it all on the SD6 and see and if the in boats where not loud enough, you already have the other amp to use as an option just in case. All out using the SD amps would be SD6 on in boats and subs and SD2 on towers. But it is more expensive to do the two amps.

Just one guy but: I am very happy running the 6 boat speakers with 6 channel jl audi amp, alpine amp for tower speakers, stacked on 2nd alpine amp single channel for sub. Really no problem they all mount easily under observer seat on side of boat there. Great 2 have 3 amps for troubleshooting and probably cheaper when one goes out.

currently i have two syn 6's in there. i'm very happy with the sub's performance, and the tower speakers as well(600w and 200w respectively). they are just so big and one of my 6's only runs ch's 1-5 so it's just kinda taking up space. i'm just going to leave things how they are for now. too many other bills coming in lately.thanks though. Tim, i am sure ya'll are quite busy, but i always loved the configuration rec's the syn amps have on your site...

          gride, Tim,
There is a conflict with a series/parallel configuration when running specifically an odd number of in-boat coaxials. The result would be a serious inequity of power going to two of the six speakers. You could cure this with a stereo autoformer on the bow set. Or, you could run a small and concealed 2-channel amplifier on the bow set to supplement the larger 6-channel amplifier. Or, you could series all three in-boat speakers per side and bridge four channels into two, but then you would still need a second amplifier to drive either the tower speakers or the subwoofer.

Btw, there will be a totally configurable 8-channel amplifier coming this Spring from JL Audio but the total power will not be as high as the Wetsounds SD6 so it doesn't fit the bill on this system.

Looking at this from every aspect I really think you have a dual amplifier need. And you will not find a larger 6-channel than the Wetsounds SD6.

thanks for the information. i'm just going to save up $$$$ and redo the whole thing. i think i need rev 8's with 300w and 650's with 110w
