Adding speakers to a naked tower

I have a set of exile sxt65 tower speakers that I'm thinking about adding to my tower. Where on the tower would you suggest I put them? I have an under mount bimin, if that matters.

On the aft hoop is the best. The big question is if your tower is pre-wired or not. How that tower is hinged/jointed and folds down impacts how it is wired. IIRC, the speaker will come up the forward hoop. The lateral bars connecting the forward and aft hoops are not hollow. It can be fished, but its a job.

The wiring for the tower is covered, whats your suggestion for where on the aft bar- is there one place that looks better, or causes less headaches?

I would mount them just inside of each of the outer lateral bars.

Depending on the size of the speaker and mounting bracket, the wider the speakers the higher the bimini can remain.

Also consider the location based on possible interference with the rope getting caught up when retrieving a downed skier.

In this application the speakers will not fit outside the oval lateral bars.

Thanks for the suggestions! If I remove my tower speakers for am slalom runs, will it do any damage to the amp if it doesn't see the load?

To answer your question, no, the amp will not be harmed with the speakers unplugged. But I gotta ask, why do you need to remove the speakers to slalom?

The 206 has a great slalom wake, but its pretty sensitive to weight, we usually try to keep the trunk empty of everything but noodles, and the gas tank between half and one fourth. I've been told that if we start adding anything to the tower that we will notice it during our runs in the course. I hope that's not the case, but if so the speakers are easy to remove.

The Key is ease of removal, the neutrik connectors are great and a quick release of any sort for the speaker mount. Depending on how heavy they are, it may be easier to mount/dismount with the tower down. We always remove the speakers when slaloming, towing or anytime the boat was not going back out the next AM.
