    2013 g23 speakers

Today I was tearing the "old" sound system out to find it has the Polk DXI650 speakers!! If crutchfields is running them at 80.00 a pair what do you think Nautique is paying for them? It kills me that we pay huge sums of money for these boats and they pick the cheapest speaker they can find for their flagship boat!!

I am 100% with you on this! I ripped every piece of stereo equipment out of my G23 the day I got it.

I wish we could just order the boats wired with no equipment.

I guess it would be more convenient for you if wired with no equipment. But like you said that stuff has no value. So it is not like they would lower the price or anything. The funny thing is that the polk stuff is pretty good for the price. But the should give a choice of like 3 packages: wetsounds, alpine, polk...like 3 different prices levels. It would be so easy for them to pop in one of the 3 at the factory. you know a good, better, best...

The polks are smaller than some higher end stuff. I agree with the different package idea however. I put all Focal 165KRC speakers in which were slightly larger than the stock for some reason, but they sound 400x better, IMHO the best speakers on the market are Focals.

Polk is not a bad product, like you say especially for the price. Many people on this board point out that Nautique is a boat manufacturer and they do that very well. They are definitely NOT a stereo design company. When I first installed my system in the G23 I had terrible hissing coming from the speakers, this was due to the stock wiring harness running next to power cables. In order to fix it I had to cut the deck power from the stock harness and wire to a separate clean power source.

yes It has a polk audio 5000.5 on the in boat and sub. I guess its ok, I turned mine on for all of 3 min and decided that it sucked. I went with all JL audio HD amps, 600/4 for in boat, 750/1 on towers and a kicker 2500.1 for the 4 12's. I have never been a fan of the polk audio stuff. I replaced the in boats with kicker RS60.2's

Is is worth it to just replace the tower speakers with Rev 8's or 10's and keep the stock amps and wiring? I trade my boats in too often to replace the entire system. It would be easy enough to move the tower speakers to a new boat when the time comes.

the stock in boats will not blend very well with the wetsounds. I have the ws-420, but I hate it when the towers are so over bearing on the system. I read on here that you might not be able to spin the board racks with boards on them under the wetsounds. I'm thinking about the hallow points, I just have a hard time paying 2600 for the stock roswells..

The stock polk is a 4000. I dont think it will push the wetsounds hard enough, it all depends on what you want out of your system. I'm going to rewire my tower since I'm going to be pushing 375 watts to each side of my tower and that thin wire cant handle that very effecently

I always order mine without speakers or wiring. My stereo guy's install always replaces whatever is in there anyway, wiring included, so it definitely is not worth over $1K for it.

We have 4 - Rev 10s on our 230. Only a minor issue with spinning the racks in on that with boards in the racks. Thats is with putting all speakers on the factory mounts, two up top and two on the sides. We have them all powered with Wetsounds and Arc Audio amps, not sure of exact powering/configuration (that's why I pay someone to do it for me).
