Has anyone replaced the 6.5" cabin speakers in a G with 8"? May need new grills or something but just wondering if there's enough room in back, at least for the main cabin and not the bow area.

When I replaced mine with the kicker QS60.2's there was very little room behind them and the boat ( less than 1/4" clearence). the opening for the speaker ( area around the mounting area) will not suport anything larger than a 6.5 It looks like a lot of room but behind the grill tapers in to where the spaker mounts. To mount a 8" you will have to do alot of custom work to the side pannel for depth and width. Good luck, I thought about doing a crazy custom install with 8's but I personaly didn't see the need.
