Hey All,
I figured I would send this out because I know I had a heck of a time finding this answer. I have a 2010 SANTE 230 and it has the Clarion CMD radio with the glovebox USB extender. When I bought this boat new this past season I could not get my iPhone to work. After countless calls with the dealer I got nowhere so I decided to fix it myself. After stumbling on a link on a forum about the issue I found that if I was to remove the extender from the equation everything worked great. So, in short what I found out was the extender they used in my boat registered at 13.5 feet, with the length of the USB cord on the radio then the USB cable from Apple I was at roughly 15 feet. This distance would not allow my iPhone/iPod to register. So, I cut the wire and removed 10 feet and repaired the wire and all is well. If you don't like electronic's work you can buy a shorter extender on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004UBCWHY/..._M3T1_ST1_dp_1
Both of these fixes seem to work great.
FYI - From my research this only affects iDevices, the deal plugged his droid in and it worked instantly.
Hope this helps
