    WS-420SQ Equalizer Placement

    I just bought an '04 SV211 ANTE and I'm going to be getting a complete wet sounds system put in. I was wondering where a good placement for the EQ would be. I would like it to look factory, not just bolted under the dash. I'm not sure if it would be better in the glove box next to the head unit ( less wire this way) I doubt I'll be using the mike feature, thats another reason i was thinking glove box. Any ideas, or pics of placements would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

      Looks good, very tidy install. If I'm looking at the picture for the EQ right, I have my ballast tank gauges in that area. I'll have to have a closer look at that area though. Thanks

          I like the bottom of the dash mount, but my dash is curved, I'm not sure if it would work there. Here is what I'm working with;

              I had 230. Had it on bottom of dash. Very easy to use in that location. If u want to look like from factory gonna need to find a local installer that can make plastic mold to b flush mounted. My new G will have something similar covered in vinyl to match.

                I'll be taking my boat in on Thursday to my wet sounds dealer, and we'll go over some options. I emailed Tim, from Wetsounds and asked his opinion, he told me to go to their website and look in the photo galleries as there were a few different options in there. So far I'm leaning towards under the throttle, or mounted in the dash under the stereo remote. And if none of those work then I guess in the glove box. I'll see what the dealer has for ideas and update on the weekend. Really looking forward to the install though.

                  glove box not a good solution bc driver cannot adjust volumes

                    glove box is basically a waste of money. mount it under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. i've had mine there and it's perfect b/c i can work the throttle, and cut the volume when someone falls, and my "trained" friends can cut it down or turn it up for me if my hands are occupied.

                      ...and then the passenger can use the mic if you are coaching anyone (which is why I like it left of steering wheel and not right).

                        if your passengers have a few adult beverages sometimes as captain it becomes necessary to put the mic in your crotch(in between legs) so they don't go grabbing for it, however, if it's a pretty lady she can grab all she wants.

                          Too funny! do you not hit your shins or legs on it under the dash when your climbing in or out of the chair? I dropped the boat off today, REALLY looking forward to picking it up in a few days. The installer is going to look at the install pictures that I printed off the wet sounds web site, and call me with what he thinks will work. I told them that my biggest concern was, that I wanted it to look clean. I'll post some pics when I pick her up next weekend.

                            nope. never had a problem even with the chair slid close up to the wheel. mine is mounted with a recess of an inch or two.
