Keep the Head Unit? or new speakers in '09 210

Looking to improve the stereo in a 2009 210. Currently using the stock clarion head unit and two pair of Polk speakers. Looking for more range. Should I keep the head unit and upgrade the factory speakers? Looks like most of the really nice systems keep the standard head unit from what I can tell. Will be working on a sub and some tower speakers eventually. Looks like Wetsounds is the way to go.

Wetsounds is definitely where its at. REV10s, 650s, and a XS-XXX sub, all with a WS420. Can't go wrong with that.

      KT,
There is no valid reason to eliminate the source unit or replace the Clarion based on quality. Some go from their ipod/iphone directly into an EQ and skip the source unit if building a system from scratch. But, I prefer the step up in line voltage that a source unit provides.
Starting with the Clarion a building a Wetsounds system is a good plan.

I added 2 REV 8's & a WS420 last year, and kept all the stock Calarion head unit and Polk speakers in my 2010 210. The only problem with adding some wetsounds gear is it will point out your weakest link in the system. The stock sub 10" in the 210 behind the driver seat will be my next swap. I have looked into doing this and would require most likely removing the stock Polk amp that the subs and 4 interior speakers are on. I wanna boat this year, so won't be pulling any of that out, but it's under the maybe list..
