System/ WS Pro 485 Amp Recommendations

For those of you with the Rev 10 or Pro 485 what amp do you have experience with or do you recommend? I have the Pro 485 and are currently way under powered with the Polk amp that is running them. There is also a 10" WS sub hooked to the Polk amp as well. I recently purchased the boat and am now ready to sort the stereo system out. Here is what I can tell you about it:
Stock Clarion Head unit and remote
Tower speakers" WS Pro 485 (2)
Boat Speakers: stock Polk speakers (6)
    Sub: WS 10" free air
Amps: 1 Polk stock (running tower and sub) and 1 Concept 1003 running the boat??
    EQ: WS 420

I feel that I have some good stuff to start out with but the amps are definitely not cutting it. I would like to either purchase a new amp for the 485s and use one of the existing amps for the sub and then run the boat off of the concept but not sure if the stock Polk amp will run the WS sub effectively.

I know I have left some info off on the amps and hope to get back to the boat in a couple of week to see exactly what needs to be sorted out.
    Thanks for the input.

I have 485s with an Arc 2 channel. I can't remember the model but its about a foot long and a out a foot wide. I'll get the model number later for you but I think they could use more power. I'd get as much as you can afford! All I've every heard was that they like power. I'm not sold on the Arc amps. Should I say was sold and not real happy!

Folks get all mad and pissy when folks make specific brand reccomendations. But if I were powering 2 485s.... RMS at 300ea and the the preverbial WS "continual" or target power as i see it...of 450w each.... you live in GA, its hot, ruling out class AB's..... without going super expensive premium, WS, Exile, JL etc etc.... I'd be looking at this as the best budget option:

      http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...Audio-BX4.html

tiny, Class D (runs cooler; more efficient), CEA rated power at $369. those specs putting 480w on each of those 485s for that price are going to be hard to beat. Only other thing I'd offer is canx the 8ga power and ground wires. Use 4ga and either trim them down just enough and seal the ends or crimp with stud to fit the amp.

Cheers, post of some pics when you get done with your setup.

Thanks for the input. I am open to all options.
Nyryan, So you recommend running 2 of the Class D (one amp for each 485) correct? Yes, from what I am learning the 485s are power hungry and the more 4 ohm power they get the better they sound. I could then run the WS sub off the Polk amp and keep the Concept CC1004 for the boat speakers. No matter what I do I will run 4 gauge wire with soldered butt/ ring terminal connections and adhesive lined shrink wrap. I have a very good resource for 4 gauge 600 volt welding cable which is the small strand wire and it really makes a good flexible cable to work with.

Kinda interesting that that Massive amp will deliver nearly 1000W rms, yet it accepts no larger then 8gs power cabling and has a single 40A fuse. Make ya go Hmmmmm.

            For a pair of Pro-485, the Wet Sounds Syn-4 @ 400W x 2 is perferct and an SD-4 @ 685W each and Class-D, is off the hook.

I'm also going hmmmm to a near 1000 watt amplifier with 40 amps of fusing. From experience that fusing capacity for a Class D amplifier would produce a limit of just under 600 total watts. There is no governing body that can confirm the amplifier meets its CEA2006 ratings. Besides, a lot of performance criteria can fall through the cracks with the easy CEA2006 standards....especially in a Class D topology. I've heard many cheaper Class D amplifiers that sound just plain 'electronic' on the top end.
Here are a few amplifier possibilities.
JL Audio Class D XD400/4. Exceptionally clean and efficient. Excellent sounding with a pristine top end. As tested, will produce 2 X 280 watts bridged. Still a little light for a pair of Pro485s.
Wetsounds Class D HT-4 bridged. A little light also.
Wetsounds Class H Syn4 bridged. Ideal power.
JL Audio Class D HD750/1. Strictly regulated so it's 25 to 30 % stronger than a typical amplifier of the same power at lower supply voltages. A little on the strong side for a pair of Pro485s.
Wetsounds Class D SD4 bridged. Also a little on the strong side.
I'm not concerned with the stronger power options if the tuning is done correctly and the user has a solid audible sense of what clipping is.

                No, 1 of them should do 480w x 2 at 4 ohms.

tracking the 8ga and fuse ratings. But MA isn't Pyle, Power Acoustic or PPI. Recommend you contact their tech support and ask if they have bench test data avail. For example, Re Audio isn't CEA compliant, but they provide legit bench test data.
Dont get me wrong, I love all the high end stuff, who doesn't. But sometimes the difference between 360 and 600 can be whether you do it at all.

                again, nothing to gain here.

I have run 3 different amplifier configurations to my pair of 485's.

                  Round 1: http://www.woofersetc.com/p-120-axt8...amplifier.aspx
                  Round 2: 1 - Wetsounds Syn 4
                  Round 3: 2 - Wetsounds Syn 2's

For value the Avionixx amp clearly wins but they are a bit louder with the pair of Syn 2's pushing about 600 watts each. I noticed no difference in loudness or sound quality when I swapped the Avionixx to the Syn 4.

If I were starting over I would consider a pair of these amps (one to each 485): http://www.woofersetc.com/p-10137-p6...amplifier.aspx
