Speaker switch...

I’m looking at a used 2004 196. (I have resigned myself to the fact that the 211 is out of my price range…) Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

This isn’t the determining factor in whether or not I buy the boat, but I was curious…

I love the new speakers on the ’05 boats, the six spoke Polk/MOMO speakers. Does anyone know if the speakers in the ’04 can be taken out and switched with the ones they’re putting in the ‘05’s?

Are they the same size?
Use the same mountings?

Appreciate any thoughts…

If you have the Clarion speakers on the '04 model, you are probably going to have tweeters installed at the corners of the windshield (left far corner of the glove box lid and right far corner of the console). You may have holes for the wiring into the tweeters.

I believe that the pods for the speakers are the same size on both models so the Polk/MOMO speakers should work on the '04 model.

Polk makes the momo speakers two ways, with coaxially mounted tweeters and with remote mounted tweeters so you should be able to get whatever you need.
