Ok , so today I was listening to music (VERY bass heavy music) and I had it up pretty loud and the sub was at +9 and everything sounded great when all of a sudden the sub just turns off. I thought oh **** I just blew it, I blew my 700 dollar sub...so I turned down the volume and it came back on and I was really confused at that point. At first I thought it was the battery so I hooked it up to the charger and repeated and the exact same thing happen. About 20 is the threshold...under that is great; above it is no sub. Any ideas as to what would cause this??? It has never done it on the water I was in the garage installing lights and listening to music. I have a Wetsounds XS-XXX if that helps.

Several potential causes including but not limited to are low voltage, thermal protection, or a combination of both. Sometimes an amplifier is doing the right thing by shutting down to protect itself.
Did you measure the supply voltage shortly after the sub amp shut down? Keep in mind that the static supply voltage is likely to sag much farther when there is a substantial current draw.
