Installed one on my 2013 and it works great. I installed it further to the bow than Clibka's. The 2013 cover has a lot of slack over the bow and I really wanted to make sure the bow cover was tight enough and luckily it worked great. I had no significant pooling anywhere. I think the hole needs to be sewn to protect against tearing for an ideal install but didn't do it myself.

Hi Scottb, excuse my ignorance: how does that work? I like the idea of not making a hole.

+1 here. If you can get the hole sewed and reinforced things will be a lot cleaner. I am going to have it reinforced and patched by a pro.

Just fold over the cover a bit and shove some of the fabric in the claw part and tighten 'er down with the turn handle thingy. They open plenty wide. I have been using these to hang the factory carpet in my lift to dry it out. I am

I plan on picking one of these up today from Overtons. Also I want to know if I should purchase some type of spray for the cover to help with the water beading off the fabric? I know they make a "Goretex" spray but does anyone on here use a spray if so what type do you use?

303 makes the best "Waterproofing" spray for the canvas covers. It's called 303 High Tech Fabric Guard.

                    Directly from West Marine's website:

"The only repellency product recommended by and for Sunbrella. Restores lasting water repellency to marine canvas. Stops leaks and protects against soiling and water and oil-based stains. Resists mildew formation and UV sun damage. Spray on, let dry. One pint treats 75-100 square feet of marine canvas. Also a great choice for fabric upholstery, carpeting and breathable foul-weather gear."

I must say, I was super excited for this product. I was tired of using poles every time I put my cover on. After purchasing this product it works great in light rain storms but in heavy storms I have had no success. I have mine installed in the center of the boat and I still get pooling behind it. Again, only in heavy storms but lately we have had a few of these which leads to me scoping off water.

Moto, are you buckling the transom cover straps tight? I find that I get a little pooling if I don't have those done up, otherwise I have loved this product and it has worked as advertised.

I just checked on 303 for myself. Amazon has better pricing.

220 & 230 have very long transom, and it is difficult to keep it tight enough. I usually put a couple of empty fuel tanks on the sunpad

My 230 that I bought last year has one of them on a Cover sports cover that's in pretty bad shape (missing cinch hardware, clips etc.) Last season it worked to keep all the water off but since the cover was so loose on the boat, I didn't even try trailering with it on.

This year I've bought all the replacement parts from Brent and want to tow with the cover on. The problem I see is the hangtyte has caused the fabric to stretch a little where it's attached.

Does anyone tow while using one of these?
